What are the contraindications for use?
Do not use Reveal® Clear Aligners if your patient is allergic to plastics.
What is the aligner and retainer material?
ClearWear™ is a plastic that is manufactured through a proprietary process to provide the ideal clarity and fit. Based on our current knowledge and testing of the raw materials and processes used in the manufacture of aligners, we are not aware of any phthalates or Bisphenol A (BPA) present in our aligners. Of course, as with any medical device, patients should consult with their health professional about aligner treatment and any applicable risks of use.
What is the length of time to receive the initial proposed treatment setup?
Online diagnostic digital setup will be available to review within 5 business days from submission of complete records.
If the treating doctor makes modifications to the proposed treatment plan, what is the length of time to receive the modified treatment setup?
Modified setups will be delivered within 2-3 business days.
What is the manufacturing time for the aligners?
Once the treatment setup is approved, aligners will be shipped within 10-15 business days.
How long should a patient wear each set of trays before switching to the next step?
Patients should wear aligners for 22 hours each day for approximately 2 weeks, when not using any other orthodontic acceleration technology.
Are PVS impressions accepted?
Digital scans are the preferred method, but we also accept PVS impressions in the US and other select global markets.
What type of intraoral scans are accepted?
All leading intraoral scans are accepted. Digital scans should be submitted as STL format which is an open source – therefore you are not required to buy any specific scanner.
What computer system is needed to run the software?
Case management and treatment planning communication is done through our Digital Dental Exchange DDX platform. There is no software to be downloaded or maintained. You can use any modern browser system so DDX is easy to use from a Mac or PC.
Are Reveal Clear Aligners trimmed in a scalloped shape or straight across?
Reveal Clear Aligners are custom and trimmed along the gingival margin for optimal patient comfort.
What is EBT?
EBT stands for Elastic Button Technique. If needed, your HSO Sales Manager can provide more information.
Will attachments be recommended for use with Reveal Clear Aligners?
Attachments are not a default treatment solution, EBT or elastic button treatment will be suggested if needed for certain movements.
What should I recommend if the aligners are lagging or not tracking?
If select teeth are not tracking or lagging behind, please ask your patients to use Chewies to help firmly seat the aligners. If teeth continue to lag behind and the movement needed is extrusion, EBT may be needed.
Are Reveal Clear Aligner results guaranteed?
With over 100,000 patients treated with this innovative aligner technology, you and your patients can be confident in Reveal Aligners performance. However, orthodontic treatment is the responsibility of the treating doctor. HSO cannot guarantee the outcome of any orthodontic treatment, as results may vary.
What happens if a patient loses an aligner?
Direct patients to keep their most recently used aligners and temporarily use the previous set while the replacements are being made. Replacement aligners are available for purchase and will generally ship within 7 to 10 business days after placing the order.
